after a year of working remotely on this collaboration, my brother and i got together for the final step: hand-painting the inside covers.
each book is in fact one of a kind but it is not an island.
instead of editioning them traditionally we made each book unique in a way that we felt stays true to the “the nod” on a more tangible level.
whether your book contains a painting, a portion of a drawing, or the ink recording of a dice game, it is only part of the piece. every work is a companion to another composition that lives in someone else’s book... someone with whom you are now connected.
hopefully, this serves as a further reminder that we are all part of a bigger artwork.
